Yamanashi -

My friends in Kagoshima all had racing bikes. My old bike rusted all to hell from the frequent sudden downpours and ever present humidity there, so after remarking on Yamanashi's drier climate, I bought a racing bike. I joined a bike racing team, my legs got too thick for my pants, and I consequentially painted a lot less.

It was always windy there, always windy! When I did paint outside I had to hold my easel steady with one hand because the wind made the canvas lurch about.  There are prettier places in the country but Yamanashi was a long way from bad, and it was all easy living there. It had a lot of Indian restaurants, and I could look at Mt. Fuji from my bathtub window. Those are both good things.
